About the winemaker

"Ciabot della Luna" is a plot at the top of the vineyard. The vineyard is named after the small house that stands here. 'Ciabot' means small house, and 'Luna' means moon. The plot is thus called 'The little house under the moon'. This vineyard is located next to the famous 'la Serra' plot, from which we produce our Barolo. After harvest, the wine matures for 8 months in French oak, partly in large barrels and partly in small ones, ensuring the wine retains its elegance and balance."

"Attractive linear red with berry and walnut character. Medium body and a firm and silky finish. More like a Barolo in structure."

One of the most famous wine regions in Italy, Piedmont, is located in the northwest of the country. In the north and west, the region is bordered by the Alps. The red wines here are made from the Nebbiolo grape, a grape known for its high acidity and tannins. These are two perfect factors for wines that age well. A soil of fine sand, limestone, and clay, combined with slopes facing south or southwest, is ideal for the Nebbiolo grape. However, the grape does not like fog and moisture. Fortunately, the vineyard for this wine is situated on top of a hill, where the morning dew quickly dissipates.
