Stahlnagel Silvaner
Winemaker Tobias is the rising star in Franconia. He works experimentally, but does not forget family traditions. His Stahlnagel Silvaner ripens on stainless steel and is therefore extra fresh and mineral, with aromas of apple and citrus.

About the winemaker
"In 2015, I took over Winzerhof Nagel from my parents. Some things have changed. For example, I started transitioning to organic viticulture in 2019 and am always curious about new developments in the wine world. Other things, however, never change. For example, I do my best to preserve the winemaking traditions of Franconia and, like my parents, I believe that wine is made in the vineyards. By the way, those vineyards are largely in an old quarry, where you might not expect grape vines."

Franken, Germany
If you say Franconia, you say Silvaner. It is one of the few German regions where the riesling grape does not come first. The typical mussel lime found in the soil here does something special to the silvaner grape. Whereas in many other regions this grape is still a little understated and produces neutral wines, in Franconia it actually produces exciting, super fresh, mineral wines. Talk about terroir! The history of the region goes back more than 1,200 years, when Emperor Charlemagne approved a document in 779 describing the boundaries between the towns of Randersacker and Würzburg. The region's many medieval buildings may not go back that far, but they give a good idea of its rich past. Combined with the many wine festivals, Franconia becomes a region more than worth visiting.

Ik zocht een toegankelijke, niet zo duur vervanger voor de droge Riesling en vond deze een smakelijke alternatief. Heel klein bubbeltje erin
