About the winemaker
"My family has been growing wine grapes for more than 200 years. Yet it was my father, Armando who in 1977 decided to stop selling the grapes to the local cooperative and start making wine under our own name. The company is located in "Navesel", an old port on the Adige, just southwest of Rovereto, in Vallagarina. The valley floor and the damming of the river have created fertile land. The vineyards have found an ideal environment to develop and produce high-quality grapes. "

Trentino, Italy

On holiday to Italy, you can't really avoid Trentino, as it is home to the famous Brenner Pass. Yet not everyone will know that it is also home to the 'Strada dei Vini'. A long string of vineyards that runs from Bolzano to Trentino. This is a sunny area, with around 300 days of sunshine a year and a surprisingly warm average temperature of 18 degrees. Besides being beautiful, the steep mountain slopes are also very fertile and allow the grapes to take maximum advantage of the abundant sunshine. The temperature differences between day and night give the grapes their special flavour. In terms of viticulture, it is a very traditional area, where many farmers still sell the grapes to the local cooperatives. Yet fortunately, there are also some contrary winemakers who show how beautiful the wines from this area can also be!
