About the winemaker
"As a child, my father took me to Quinta do Conde, a small 16th century estate near Lisbon city. Although wine grapes have been grown here for centuries, this was always a side issue. The estate mainly grew grain and corn. It was only when I got the chance to take over the estate in 2005 that wine was made on the estate itself for the first time."

The Estremadura is a very densely populated coastal area near Lisbon. Due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, it has a cool maritime climate with a favourable influence of the wind on the vineyards. The vineyards of the Vista Nova are located in Alequer, a small 50 kilometres north of Lisbon, on slopes between 100 and 220 metres high. Winegrower José they love the indigenous Portuguese grape varieties and they have also used them for this wine.
