About the winemaker

"Wine always tells a story. The scent of a land, the perfect vacation, delicious food, or a memory of an old love. For everyone, that story is unique. That is precisely what inspired me to become a winemaker. After all, how many beautiful stories have come to life after opening a fine bottle of wine?"

Priorat, Spain
One of Spain’s smallest wine regions is Priorato (or Priorat in Catalan), located west of Tarragona. In a relatively short period, starting in the 1970s, the wines from this region have become some of the most acclaimed in the world. This success is due to its unique microclimate and, above all, the distinctive soil called llicorella (famous granite-based soils). The soil is composed of reddish and black slate with small particles of quartzite. The top layer, about 50 cm thick, consists of broken slate and mica. As a result, vine roots must grow deep into the ground in search of nutrients, water, and minerals. This explains the concentration and minerality of the wines produced in this area.
