Natus Intus Branco
Alentejo, Portugal

About the winemaker
“In 2008 I decided to buy a small estate at the foot of the Serra do Mundo mountains in the heart of Alentejo. We planted the estate ourselves, manually, with typical Portuguese grape varieties. The wines are made in the cellar, under our house, in traditional Talhas. These are old Portuguese amphorae. This gives the wine its typical freshness in the hot Alentejo.”

Alentejo, Portugal
In the south of Portugal lies the wine region Alentejo. The hot climate poses a challenge to wine growers. Many wine growers therefore choose to harvest early. However, wine grower Hamilton is more creative and came up with a completely new solution. In conflict with the sun, he planted the wines in a pergola system, which in Portugal is actually only found in the Vinh Verde region. This makes the wind act as a föhn, blowing cool wind between the vines. This ensures that Hamilton's vineyards are just a few degrees cooler than elsewhere in the region.
