About the winemaker
"My father started making wine in 1970 on Croce del Moro, a hill located in Rosaro. This is one of the 25 crus of Castelli di Jesi. Fortunately, I no longer have to do all the work on my own; apart from my sons Giorgio and Federico, I now also have the help of a flock of sheep who help to control the weeds. They also enjoy the conditions; a view of the sea and the protection of the surrounding mountains."

The Marche wine region can be divided into two different DOC zones for the white Verdicchio wines. The first is the high-altitude Verdecchio di Matelica. But the warmer, lower-altitude Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi is actually better known. The area is located in the heart of the Marche region, between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea and is named after the many medieval castles (castelli) that adorn the hills around the city of Jesi. The climate here is ideal for wine growing, with warm summers and cool nights. The proximity of the Adriatic Sea ensures a moderate influence, while the hilly topography contributes to the variation in microclimates. The soil is mainly clay and calcareous, which contributes to the structure and minerality of the wines. Bruno's winery is located in the sub-area of Rosaro, near the city of Jesi. The location here is ideal, slightly higher, which means that in addition to fresh sea breezes, there is also a lot of freshness from the mountains. As a result, the wines from Rosaro are generally more mineral than those from the rest of Jesi.
