About the winemaker
“Our quest for authenticity has led us to simplify our winemaking process. Since 2005, we've been working biodynamically, and our cuvées are vinified and bottled without the addition of sulfites. Essentially, we wanted to return to the origin and fully express our terroir.”
Isabelle & thierry daulhiac

Perigord is actually the ancient Gallic name for the Dordogne region. It's where you can find the Bergerac wine region, where Isabelle and Thierry's winery is located. This region was particularly popular among Dutch wine drinkers in the 1980s and 1990s for its fresh wines made from sauvignon blanc, semillon, and muscadelle. When Thierry took over the family estate in 1992, he gradually began working to increase the quality of the wines. This ultimately led to organic certification in 2005. Today, they go even further by bottling some of their wines without the addition of sulfites. He also takes a more flexible approach to the prevailing AOC rules of Bergerac. For example, he has planted sauvignon gris, a natural mutation of sauvignon blanc that, like pinot grigio, has a slightly reddish color and delivers slightly richer aromas than its white counterpart.

One of our favorite wines. Since it's organic it has a nice long finish of breadiness (lees), ripe yellow fruit . Really unique and fun to try.
