About the winemaker
"In 1920, my grandfather moved the family to the south-west of France, especially for wine growing. At the time, the area was mainly known for Armagnac, but he was one of the very first to choose to make dry wines. It turned out a foresight, because our wines are now loved throughout France!"

Gascogne, France
De Côtes de Gascogne is een wijnbouwgebied in wat ze in Frankrijk de Sud-Ouest noemen. Hier wordt voornamelijk witte wijn geproduceerd. Deze Gascognewijn bestaat voor 60% uit colombard, 20% gros manseng en 20% sauvignon blanc. De colombard geeft de wijn zijn fruitige karakter en de gros manseng draagt bij aan het intense aroma. De onvolprezen sauvignon blanc geeft extra frisheid en mineraliteit. De ondergrond van de wijngaarden in de Gascogne bestaat uit klei en schelpen, deze bodem draagt bij aan de mineraliteit en de frisheid van de wijn.
