About the winemaker
“In 1981, my father decided to quit his job in Belgium and pursue his dream of making wine. His search for the perfect terroir eventually brought him to the French Minervois. And despite the fact that I have since taken over the winery, he can still be found in his “vineyards” every day. Fortunately, because those 40 years of experience are almost priceless.”

Languedoc, France
The Minervois is an enchanting wine region in the Languedoc, southern France. The name is derived from the town of Minerve, named after the Roman goddess Minerva and immediately reveals how wine growing came to the area. However, the habitation of this region goes back to long before Roman times. The caves of Fauzan and Bize-Minervois are beautiful evidence of this. Geologically, the soil of the Minervois is diverse. In the plain, one finds clayey soils with large round boulders, while higher up in the hills, diatomite and limestone dominate, alternating with slate. This variation contributes to the many different styles of wine that can be found in the area.
