Catalan Eagle Terra Alta Blanco

Terra alta, Spain
Garnacha blanca, Viognier
Balance, the label already exudes that. Winemaker Pepe seeks the perfect balance between viognier and garnacha blanca. Fresh enough for an easy drink, rich enough for a red pepper.

About the winemaker

"Fusion and balance, those are our magic words! Not only do we blend the juice of indigenous grape varieties with that of international successful grapes, we also like to make wines that has a wide range of uses. Our white blend is broadly applicable as an aperitif, with hearty paella, but also with spicy Asian cuisine, for example. The same goes for the red Catalan Eagle: fresh enough with tapas and powerful enough for barbecue."

Proefnotitie
"This blend of garnacha blanca and viognier is a fine wine to pair with some spicier dishes. Garnacha blanca is a thick-skinned grape, which gives it quite a bit of spiciness. Viognier is an aromatic grape, which can also withstand quite a bit!"

Terra alta, Spain
Terra Alta is located in the southern part of Catalonia, southwest of Tarragona. Its climate is characterised by very hot summers and cold winters with little rainfall. Due to its geographically isolated location, until recently wine was only made here for local consumption, mostly using traditional vinification methods. New wineries and young oenologists introduced the latest technologies and gave the area a quality boost. The emphasis is on fresh and fruity wines from traditional Spanish grapes such as macabeu, pansa blanca, garnacha and cariñena. There is also experimentation these days with international varieties such as viognier, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. This  is a region to keep an eye on.

Misschien is 10,- teveel.

Mooie combinatie van 2 frisse druiven. Blijft goed overeind bij wat pittiger eten.
