BIO Dansault Closerie Montlouis

Montlouis, France
Chenin blanc
Montlouis is one of the best areas for chenin blanc. Winemaker Régis makes one of these, without the addition of sulphite and aged in oak demi-muids (600 litres) for even more depth.

About the winemaker

"I used to sell low-quality table wines with my father from our little shop on our farm. I started concentrating more and more on making wine and together with my wife Gabriele I took over a small winery. We have been working completely organically ever since and treat our vines with the utmost respect."

"Natuurwijn-liefhebbers opgelet! (2019 vintage)

Montlouis, France
Montlouis sur Loire is a tiny appellation on the Loire River. Only 450 hectares are dedicated to viticulture and only 50 winemakers are active in the region. The soil consists of clay and flint, with roots even reaching an underlying layer of limestone. The soil retains moisture well in dry years, ensuring consistent quality that can be called great every year. This gives plenty of citrus, floral and almond notes as well as mineral aromas in the glass. The wine matures for 14 months in demi-muids (600-litre oak barrels) for extra volume and a slight hint of vanilla.
